Musikgarten’s Early Childhood Music and Movement Program Returns
Truckee, CA – Classical Tahoe’s Musikgarten, a free spring music and movement program for young children, returns to Truckee and the North Tahoe region starting mid-March.
The Musikgarten Philosophy
Classical Tahoe believes that when music and movement are a natural, joyous part of childhood, children benefit in numerous ways. Early exposure to music enhances language development, self-expression, memory, concentration, social interaction, fine motor skills, listening, problem-solving, teamwork, goal setting, and coordination.
Classical Tahoe’s Education Coordinator, Rita Haun, expressed her excitement for the
upcoming session:
“I am thrilled to once again offer the Spring Session of Musikgarten, an early childhood music and movement program for children from birth to age five. Thanks to support from the Spirit Burns Fund and partnerships with Sierra Community House, Tahoe-Truckee Unified School District, and Truckee-Tahoe Airport, more than 40 children in the Greater Tahoe-Truckee region will enjoy singing, listening, moving, and playing simple instruments with their caregivers at no cost. The age-appropriate and beautifully designed Musikgarten curriculum nurtures brain development while fostering relationships with self, others, and nature.”

Kings Beach Location
● Venue: Kings Beach Family Room, Kings Beach Elementary School
● Time: Wednesdays, 9:30 – 10:00 AM
● Dates: March 19, 26; April 2, 9, 23, 30
Tahoe-Truckee Airport Location
● Venue: Tahoe-Truckee Airport Community Room
● Time: Saturdays, 10:00 – 10:30 AM
● Dates: March 22, 29; April 5, 12, 26

The fund was developed to honor the late Tim Burns and his vision to provide access to the transformative experience of creativity through music and art, especially to children and others who have not had the opportunity or exposure.
