Christabel Nunoo

Soprano Christabel Nunoo obtained her Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from the University of Michigan School of Music, Theatre, & Dance. Throughout her career, she has sung in master classes led by esteemed artists such as Martin Katz, Evelyn Lear, Jake Heggie, Roderick Dixon, Jesse Blumberg, and Reri Grist. Christabel has been invited to perform on several occasions with renowned Metropolitan Opera mezzo-soprano, Frederica von Stade in concert with American composer Jake Heggie for San Francisco Performances. She appeared with the Oakland Symphony in June 2013 for A Celebration of the Music of Dave Brubeck performing alongside Frederica von Stade and Chris Brubeck. Christabel and Frederica von Stade performed together again in 2017 with the San Francisco Opera Orchestra for a benefit for victims of the Napa Fires and Hurricane Harvey. In 2019, Christabel was a featured performer at the San Francisco Arts Medallion Ceremony honoring Michael Tilson Thomas.
Christabel will be the soprano soloist performing Franz Schubert’s Der Hirt auf dem Felsen (The Shepherd on the Rock) on the Thursday, August 12th chamber music concert. Tune in to the livestream here.
