Jonathan Darlington, conductor
Jonathan Darlington has held the position of Music Director Emeritus at Vancouver Opera since 2018 after almost 20 years as Music Director. Fluent in several languages, he was born and educated in England and now resides in Paris. Jonathan has conducted many world-class ensembles and was recently named Chief Conductor of the Nuremberg Symphony Orchestra. A Fellow of the Royal Academy of Music and a Chevalier des Arts et des Lettres, Jonathan has a reputation for structuring concert programs that take the listener on a fascinating musical journey. The 2022-23 season includes a second appearance at Classical Tahoe, and appearances at Leipzig Oper, Hamburg Staatsoper, and with the Orchestra of the 18th Century in Amsterdam and Paris.

Johannes Moser, cello
Hailed by Gramophone magazine as “one of the finest among the astonishing gallery of young virtuoso cellists,” German-Canadian cellist Johannes Moser performs with many of the world’s leading orchestras, conductors, and musicians. A top prize winner at the Tchaikovsky Competition, Moser’s recordings of concertos by Dvořák, Elgar, Lutosławski, and Tchaikovsky, have gained him the prestigious Preis der Deutschen Schallplattenkritik and the Diapason d’Or. Moser plays on an Andrea Guarneri Cello from 1694, but also performs on electric cello having premiered Enrico Chapela’s Magnetar for Electric Cello with the Los Angeles Philharmonic. Moser currently holds a professorship at the prestigious Cologne Hochschule fuer Musik und Tanz. A voracious reader and an avid outdoorsman, Moser is a keen hiker and mountain biker.

Classical Tahoe Orchestra
The Classical Tahoe Orchestra is composed of 70 of the most prominent musicians from major orchestras around the world, including the MET Opera, SF Opera, Zurich Opera, Philadelphia Orchestra, LA Philharmonic, and symphonies of San Francisco, Seattle, Dallas, Toronto, Houston, and more.
