Kim, while living in Palo Alto, had the opportunity to volunteer and serve the community in many capacities most specifically focusing on children of the community. Kim’s previous volunteer board positions included a founding member of the Palo Alto Partners in Education, which raises money from parents and the community to provide all Palo Alto Unified school district students an educational experience beyond what is possible with public funding. Kim worked on the board of Foundation for a College Education, an organization that works with both students and their families. In the families participation they learn to advocate for their children, take advantage of school resources, and navigate the college admissions process to completion. In addition to her board representation, Kim served on the Pastoral Council of St. Thomas Aquinas as an advocate for youth education and programs. Kim served as an educator, curriculum developer, and parent volunteer in the religious education program. In addition, Kim served as chairpersons of galas, silent auctions, and various fundraising events at Crystal Springs Uplands School (Hillsborough) CA and Addison School (Palo Alto) CA.
Since living in Incline Village, Kim served on the board of Tahoe Connections for Families and chaired the annual fundraiser. She and her husband have also enjoyed being ‘Friends of Classical Tahoe’. They have enjoyed hosting musicians and events in their home, and enjoy the pleasure of attending concerts and meeting wonderful people.
Kim is an avid traveler, hiker, music lover, and home cook. She and her husband look forward to becoming grandparents in the spring. They have three children who also love Classical Tahoe.
Kim’s strengths are her passion, energy, and compassion for helping children develop with a focus on understanding underrepresented communities, as well as implementing programs and fundraising. Kim looks forward to continued support of Classical Tahoe and the Brubeck Jazz Summit.
