letter from the 2016 chair
Dear Friends,
It is my great pleasure to welcome you to Classical Tahoe, formerly the Lake Tahoe SummerFest. Yes, our name has evolved to more simply and clearly depict this unique classical music festival, held each summer in the world’s most beautiful place.
Since 2012, 40 of the world’s great classical musicians and Maestro Joel Revzen have journeyed to Lake Tahoe for three weekends of intimate full orchestra concerts, spectacular chamber music performances and more in a way that could only happen at Lake Tahoe.
This year, our orchestra will perform once again in a small accoustic tent on the campus of Sierra Nevada College; you’ll enjoy chamber music in Incline Village’s beautiful Cornerstone Church; we’ll present a new chamber orchestra concert in Reno’s picturesque Hawkins Amphitheater nestled against the sage covered foothills at Bartley Ranch, just a short drive away; we’ll “tease” audiences at Sand Harbor’s annual Shakespeare Festival, and there will be a few surprises.
More good news, this will be the second year when you may bring drinks into the concert tent. No need to rush your glass of wine or champagne before the concert or during intermission
We hope these improvements will encourage you to come early and stay late. We want you to relax this summer, with Classical Tahoe.
Please be a part of Classical Tahoe by contributing in any way you see fit. We always need volunteers – starting now! Of course, your financial contributions would be most appreciated, as well.
Thank you, as always, for your enthusiastic appreciation of Classical Tahoe. We look forward to sharing the 2016 season with you!
Marna Broida
