Anton Jivaev

Current: Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra (Germany), violist since 2012, Gewandhaus-Quartett, violist since 2015, teacher at Mendelssohn-Bartholdy School of Music in Leipzig.
Ensembles: Principal Violist, North Carolina Symphony Orchestra, 1-year contract Munich Philharmonic Orchestra. Appeared with: Philadelphia Orchestra, New York Philharmonic, Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra as a substitute musician.
Chamber/Festivals: Beethovenfest Bonn, Ravinia Festival, Verbier Festival Chamber Orchestra, Accademia Musicale Chigiana (Siena, Italy), Spoleto Festival, Tanglewood Festival. Has recently performed complete Beethoven String Quartet Cycle in Japan and China with the Gewandhaus-Quartett.
AND! Besides performing music, Anton has recently rediscovered his neglected passion for woodworking. He now makes individual chinrests and tailpieces for string players, as well as bracelets, rings and much more out of exotic wood (Anton is the uncle of Daniel Khalikov, CT Violinist, together they played the Mozart Sinfonia Concertante in 2016 with the CT Orchestra).
