🎵 Chamber Music
Concert At A Glance
- Enjoy intimate chamber music in a beautiful oasis and meet the musicians at a garden reception. 🌲🧀🍷
- Be transported to Buenos Aires and beyond as Piazzolla shows us how the tango evolved throughout history to today in his Histoire du Tango. Originally written for flute and guitar, it has been arranged for many duo combinations including the one you’ll hear tonight: violin and marimba
- Satie was a joker and Three Pieces in the Form of a Pear is a prime example. It is a response to others critiquing his form and actually seven pieces, not three.
- From Paul Schoenfeld:
“The idea to compose Café Music first came to me in 1985 after sitting in one night for the pianist at Murray’s Restaurant in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Murray’s employs a house trio that plays entertaining dinner music in a wide variety of styles… The work draws on many of the types of music played by the trio at Murray’s… early 20th-century American, Viennese, light classical, gypsy, and Broadway styles are all represented. “
