Wally Binder and his wife Estel have been Incline Village residents for almost two years. They spend part of the year in La Jolla, California.

Although mostly retired, Wally serves as Scientific/Technical Advisor of Diagnostics at ImmusanT, Inc.   Dr. Binder serves as Chief Technology Officer and Senior Vice President of R&D at INOVA. In 1987, he was one of the five original founders of INOVA Diagnostics. He served as INOVA’s President as well as Director of Research for 20 years. He served as Director of research for Behring Diagnostics. While at Behring, his group was responsible for the development and commercialization of some of the first blood test kits for diagnosis of systemic lupus erythematosus, and other connective tissues diseases. He serves as a Member of Scientific Advisory Board at ImmusanT, Inc. His research interests centered on immunopathology and autoimmune diseases.

Dr. Binder studied at the State University of New York at Buffalo and received a PhD degree in medical microbiology in 1978. He did post-doctoral studies at the University of California San Francisco Medical Center and VA Hospital.
